How to Add an Alternmail Account to Outlook (Web application)

Microsoft has removed the ability to connect third-party accounts, such as Gmail or Yahoo, directly within the Outlook.com web interface. As a result, users can no longer sync or manage external email accounts through the Connected Accounts feature.

Current Options for Managing Emails:

  1. Using the Outlook Desktop Application:
To integrate and manage multiple accounts in one interface, including third-party accounts, users must download the Outlook desktop app. This app supports IMAP or POP protocols for Gmail, Yahoo, and other services.

  2. Email Forwarding:
Third-party accounts (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) can be configured to forward emails to your Outlook account. This setting must be enabled in the email provider's settings and is not part of the "Sync email" option in Outlook.com.

  3. Mobile Access:
If you prefer to use Outlook on your mobile device, you can add third-party accounts using the mobile app.
